How it began

A year of villages, then a vow.

In 2010 Eli spent a year in Israel moving through intentional communities — an educational ecovillage, a moshav, five kibbutzim — and came home carrying one certainty: he would build one of his own in America. When he met Destiny, she loved the idea before she loved fire spinning, and then she loved fire spinning before they ever bought the land.

The burns taught them the rest. At regional gatherings and Love Burn they ran a theme camp called Birthday Camp — where every day is your birthday — hosting the fire performers and learning what it takes to make strangers feel expected. Then one ordinary day back home, two friends showed up dressed like it was a music festival, and said: what if every day was?

So the first gathering on this land wasn't called a party. People arrived and were told welcome home, and in the closing circle they said they could feel the love between the two who live here — which is why every gathering since has been called a heartwarming. Friends began asking to hold space here for their own gifts. The fire spinners got a jam. The yoga teachers got a night. The sound practitioners, the acro folks, the workshop leaders — each got a fire to gather around. It grew the only way anything real grows: by people bringing what they had.

What membership is

Presence is membership.

There's no form and no dues. If you've stood on this land at a gathering, you're a member at large — the act of being present is the whole application. What we're building is a circular economy of gifts: inside an event, everything is already yours — the food, the music, the teaching, the fire — because the donation at the door bundles the value of everyone's gifts the way a bigger burn does. Presenters, chefs, DJs, and vendors get supported; nobody inside pays for anything twice.

Members plant beds in the garden, join the weekly potluck game nights, and shape what happens here by showing up with what they carry. In-house membership — actually living on the land — is a different thing: rare, slow, and made of relationship. There are only a few rooms and a skoolie, and if it's meant to happen, you'll know, and so will we.
