The exhale.
If the firewalk is the year's held breath, the retreat is the letting-go: a long day — and soon, days — of the healing arts we practice all year, given room to stretch. Cacao and yoga, acro and thai massage, sound baths and authentic relating, ending where these things should end: by water, or by fire, together.
The first two
We've done this before. Twice, beautifully.
Year one — the food forest
A nearby permaculture food forest opened its gates: we worked the land in the morning, learned from it at noon, and ate what was growing there. Then home to Vena Cava for the healing arts — sound bath, acroyoga, thai massage — and a celebration by the fire with music carrying past dark. Contribution ran $80–160, each at their own level.
Year two — the water
Florida summers taught us the second shape: a beachside indoor space, cool against the heat. Cacao ceremony, yoga, acro, authentic relating, a sound bath — and the day ended on the water. Contribution $100–200, same principle: come at the level that's true for you.
Where this is going
An overnight on the land. Then, farther.
The next shape is a retreat that doesn't end at midnight — an overnight here on the land, fire to sunrise to garden breakfast. And beyond that, the one we've been dreaming toward: two or three days somewhere warm and generous, where we have family and friends who make it possible to give you far more than it costs to come — Puerto Rico, or Guatemala. Those trips will be a real contribution, $1,000 and up, and they will be built the way everything here is built: the value has to embarrass the price, or we don't run it.
